| Shenfield - Ye Olde Green Dragon
This photograph, taken during the 1920's, has been reproduced from a postcard advertising the inn. The postcard carries the caption "Ye Olde Green Dragon Hotel, Shenfield, Essex. Tom Barrett, Proprietor. The Halfway House to Southend. Club runs specially catered for. Motor Spirit, Sparking Plugs, etc." The rear of the postcard quotes the inn's telephone number as "Brentwood 7". The card also mentions that the inn is "seven minutes walk to Shenfield Junction railway station" and has "good stabling and lock-up for Motors, Cycles, etc." Bed and Breakfast is advertised at 2/6 (12˝p) - Hot Luncheons at 1/6 (7˝p) and Teas from 9d (4p).
